Third Annual Refresh Leadership Simulcast

Thank you Express Employment of Fayetteville for choosing FAPS as your choice to

receive donations made by attendees of the May 16th "Third Annual Refresh Leadership Live Simulcast" at the Hilton Garden Inn of Fayetteville .

This nationally broadcast event is a great blog tool for business leaders and featured well-known speakers such as Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Patrick Lencioni, and Bertice Berry.

Fayetteville Duck Derby

FAPS was delighted to be part of the May 5th Fayetteville Duck Derby in support of

Fayetteville Urban Ministries (FUM) and FAPS - along with other nonprofit organizations.

This was a fun time at Campbellton Landing on the Cape Fear River, and FAPS is proud to annouce that we came in 2nd out of all the nonprofits represented (other than FUM) and

won an extra prize for that spot!!

Thanks to all who adopted ducks in our name!!

FAPS' Fur Ball

On May 4, FAPS' first Fur Ball was held at Highland Country Club.  The Reality Show Band

from Raleigh was wonderful and everyone found themselves dancing to the "oldies - MoTown, R&B, Beach music!"  Congratulations to Jerry Dean who won the $1,000.00 raffle prize and to all who had the winning bid on our wonderful silent auction items.  All proceeds go to the welfare of our precious animals.  Thanks to all who supported us this evening!!

Fort Bragg Doggie Daze

On April 14 at Ft. Bragg's Hendrick Stadium, FAPS was invited to set up a table and bring some of our animals so soldiers and their families could learn more about us.  It was a fun and successful day - AND we even got to see some of our FAPS' alumni!! Thank you Ft. Bragg for allowing us to be part of this special day.

3rd Annual Wacky Bag & Bling Ladies Luncheon,

On April 3, 2012, FAPS held this most favored spring fundraiser

at The Barn Restaurant.  The bidding was fierce, but fun, and we anticipate

seeing the many bags and jewelry worn proudly around town.  We also

introduced our new Shelter Director and Office Manager - we are

so pleased to have two highly professional ladies on our staff!

A big THANK YOU to all who supported this event - all proceeds go

directly to the benefit of our wonderful animals!

Dog Show at Carillon Assisted Living of Fayetteville,

On March 24, 2012, Cassy Peterson, FAPS' Shelter Director, judged a fun dog show

and granted awards to "Best in Show" pooches!!

Food and refreshment was provided, and donations of Purina or Pedigree brand dog food

were collected to benefit FAPS.

SYSTEL & FAPS Furry Friend Night

On February 17, 2012, at the Crown Coliseum's Fireantz Hockey Game, FAPS joined SYSTEL and PetStars for a great evening sponsored by the Fireantz.  FAPS had 6 dogs and 2 puppies for the public to adore--and they did.  We handed out a lot of information to people who were unfamiliar with FAPS and, hopefully, made many new friends.  Our adorable friends were decked out in their US Flag bandanas and represented FAPS well.  The puppies not only melted hearts, but managed to sleep quite well in spite of all the cheering, music and frivolity- as the Fireantz won their first home game under their new coach 2-0.  Thank you Fireantz and SYSTEL (our sponsors) and all who stopped by the FAPS' table and heaped lots of love on our precious charges.  Thanks to our shelter staff and board members who assisted at the event!

Pizza and Paws Animal Day,

June 18, 2011, 1:00-3:00pm, Harley-Davidson Dealership, Sycamore Dairy Road. Harley-Davidson is collecting food and supplies for the animals and will present those donations to FAPS at the event, because they "want to do something to help the animals, especially after the effects of the tornado." There will be a pizza eating contest too! So come out and join the fun and visit the FAPS' table. Some of the animals we have available for adoption will be there as well!

Family Morale Day at Fort Bragg

May 21, 2011, 1:00-6:00pm, McKellar's Lodge off Gruber Road. Come visit our booth and see some of the animals we have available for adoption. There will be a dog demonstration and the Fort Bragg Animal Shelter will also be present.

The 2nd Annual Wacky Bag Ladies Luncheon

April 12, 2011.

We had a great event with lots of great bags and jewelry and special surprises.  Everyone who attended had a great time and we plan to make this an annual affair.  Thank you to The Barn for hosting this wonderful event! Thank you Attendees for helping us keep FAPS the best no-kill shelter in the region!

K-9 Search & Rescue (SAR) Demonstration & Pet Adoption,

March 26, 2011

A BIG Thank You to Chris Sayre and her TMC K-9 Search & Rescue (SAR) Team Members.

Although we got rained out, we had enough time to see these very special dogs in action as they demonstrated basic obedience, tracking and trailing demonstrations.  FAPS had our dogs on the field as well--hoping to get adopte--AND several found new homes that very day!!!

A special SHOUT OUT to the team members for helping the police and fire departments in the areas most damaged by the tornado on April 16th.  When the dogs were not working at the sites, they got lots of hugs from children and gave lots of kisses.  What a comfort to families in the worst of times!

If you are interested in learning more about SAR, give Chris a call at 910-864-9040.
