Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a volunteer. FAPS couldn't survive without the help of our volunteers! Currently, we are in need of kennel assistants and pooch pals to help us clean kennels and provide enrichment to the dogs in our care.

Do NOT sign up for an orientation if you are volunteering for credit (school, military, awards, resume, etc.) or for court ordered community service.

Please read all of the information below to see if we are an organization you will be able to complete your hours at.

  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

    • Volunteers ages 16 –17 years old must have a parent/guardian sign a consent form and a parent must accompany the volunteer on the day of orientation. 

  • Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, preferably comfortable sneakers. We suggest you wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty!

  • Volunteers must commit to at least 4 hours per month and commit to volunteer for at least 3 months (for exceptions to this or questions, please still apply and note this in your application; we still want your help!)

  • Volunteers must be able and willing to follow procedures for the safety of the animals, the public, volunteers and staff.

  • All Volunteers must attend an orientation and complete necessary training before volunteering.

To Become a Volunteer:   

Create a volunteer profile and sign up for an orientation.

Read over the requirements and volunteer opportunities to ensure FAPS is a good match for you.

Attend an in-person orientation before prior to volunteering.

  • Volunteers 16-17 must attend the orientation with a parent or legal guardian.

Tuesday-Friday

9:00am-12:00pm

1:00pm-4:30pm

Saturday

9:00am-12pm

12:00pm-4:30pm

Sunday/Monday

8:00am-11:30am

If you volunteer for a morning shift, please plan to stay the entire shift. If you volunteer for an afternoon shift, we ask that you commit at least 2 hours.
