We at the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society are mindful of our longterm financial health and stability. One step taken to secure our organization financially with the expectation that our services will be needed for a long time to come is through our endowment at the Cumberland Community Foundation. Gifts to our endownment helps ensure that FAPS will have the resources to help animals in our community for years to come.

An endowment is a fund created to provide a non-profit organization with financial support in perpetuity. You can leave your legacy by leaving a gift to an existing endowment or by creating a new endowment to focus on a specific program, achieve a desired goal, or help with the greatest needs of an organization. The core of the investments are left intact and any interest earned is used to provide funds for the specified purpose. This means each year a percentage of the endowment is distributed to provide much-needed support for our programs, outreach, and life-saving mission. When a nonprofit creates an endowment, it symbolizes the organization’s commitment to a long and thriving future.

The Fayetteville Animal Protection Society Endowment is managed by the Cumberland Community Foundation (CCF). CCF has a strategic investment strategy that targets sustained financial growth to maximize returns for donors, nonprofit organizations, and ultimately, make life better in our community. CCF has been proven an accountable steward of every gift received with 100% of every gift going to the fund selected by the donor. To add to the FAPS Endowment through your will, please note the following sample language and make sure to consult your own legal advisor. Sample Language for a Testamentary Gift to an Organizational Endowment at Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc. Tax Id: 58-1406831
I give, devise and bequeath to Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc., a North Carolina nonprofit corporation (the "Foundation"), _________________ [Describe the amount, percentage of estate, residual estate, or other description of property], as an addition to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society Endowment Fund of the Foundation.
This irrevocable gift shall be held, administered and distributed by the Foundation for charitable purposes described. To add to the FAPS Endowment Fund through a beneficiary designation on an IRA or 401K retirement account, you would designate Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc. as an addition to the FAPS Endowment.
